Renzulli Learning
A Global Perspective on Gifted Education
Unlocking Lebanon’s Hidden Gems: Igniting the Potential of Gifted Learners
At Renzulli Learning, we believe giftedness knows no boundaries. It exists in every culture, community, and classroom—often hidden beneath systemic challenges or overlooked by traditional measures of achievement. A recent Annahar article, “Unlocking Lebanon’s Hidden Gems: Igniting the Potential of Gifted Learners”, by Lebanese educator Naima Kayal, highlights this reality within Lebanon’s educational system.
The article explains how gifted students often remain unidentified or unsupported in environments with limited resources. In Lebanon—a country rich in culture and academic tradition—gifted learners frequently go unnoticed, especially in underserved communities. This is due not to lack of ability but lack of opportunity.
Naima shares, “We firmly believe that the school environment plays a crucial role in allowing gifted behaviors to emerge and flourish.” Inspired by the Renzulli model, she is helping her school develop programs that nurture gifted learners, showing how strength-based approaches can unlock potential anywhere.
This inspiring post aligns with the Renzulli Learning philosophy and offers valuable insight for anyone passionate about equity and excellence in education.

Naima Kayal serves as Head of HR and Head of the Health and Safety Department at Ahliah School, a distinguished non-profit inclusive institution established in 1916. Guided by the school’s mission to nurture student potential and promote active global citizenship, Naima began her learning journey in gifted education to help develop a program that cultivates gifted behaviors.
With mentorship from Dr. Anies Al Hroub and Ms. Nidal Jouni, she was inspired by the Renzulli model and has since promoted it within the school community, encouraging two teachers to enroll in Renzulli Learning. Her studies at the American University of Beirut (AUB) deepened her understanding of gifted education and enrichment, including identifying a gifted student using the Renzulli model during her practicum.
Currently, Naima is helping lay the groundwork for a comprehensive gifted program at Ahliah School, with a dedicated preparation phase planned for next year. She looks forward to continued support from Renzulli Learning to bring this vision to life.
