Empower New York's Gifted Learners with Personalized Enrichment
Gifted & Talented Education in New York – Renzulli Learning Alignment
How Can New York Schools Unlock the Full Potential of Their Gifted Learners?
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) requires all new entrants to public schools to undergo diagnostic screening to identify students who may be gifted, have a disability, or are English Language Learners, in accordance with Part 117 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. While NYSED encourages districts to develop gifted and talented programming, the responsibility for program design, curriculum adaptations, and service delivery rests with local school districts.
Renzulli Learning supports this locally driven model by providing districts with flexible, research-based tools that strengthen identification practices, personalize enrichment opportunities, and cultivate the 21st-century skills that gifted learners need to thrive.
Enhancing Talent Development Across the Empire State
New York recognizes that advanced learners need opportunities beyond the standard curriculum to reach their potential. Districts may use a range of measures, including performance data, creativity, and teacher input, to identify students for enrichment or acceleration.
Renzulli Learning supports this mission by:
Gaining deeper insights into gifted learners through the Renzulli Profiler, Learning Styles Inventory, Executive Function Assessment, and Leadership Assessment, and supporting identification with the Cebeci Test of Creativity — giving schools a holistic profile of student strengths.
Creating individualized enrichment pathways that match student strengths, interests, and district programming.
Promoting equity and access to enrichment opportunities for students across New York’s diverse communities, from large urban districts to small rural schools.
Turning New York’s Gifted Education Standards into Everyday Practice
Our platform aligns with NYSED’s emphasis on local decision-making and accountability by:
