As Summer approaches, we're all excited about the warm weather, poolside relaxation, and exciting vacations! However, we cannot forget the paramount importance of continuous learning to avoid the "Summer Slide" in students' academic progress.
While Summer offers a much-needed break, it's important to recognize that halting students' educational journey can lead to the dreaded "Summer Slide." Check out the websites below for books for all ages!

This website features a number of favorite stories read out loud by famous celebrities. You can listen to stories such as "Stellaluna," "Knots on a Counting Rope," and many more! In addition, you can take part in some activities related to each story. Check it out!
Room Recess - Fiction and Non-Fiction Short Stories
Grades 3 - 5
Reading is such an important skill for you to develop. Our free short stories for kids help make that process more enjoyable. These short stories offer an online read aloud option, featuring a professional narrator. Our narrators use fun and engaging voices that help bring these short stories to life. Our short stories for kids also come with comprehension questions, vocabulary and print-out resources. There are fiction and non-fiction books so let the reading begin!
Lit2Go
Grades K - 12
Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format. An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages. Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified. Each reading passage can also be downloaded as a PDF and printed for use as a read-along or as supplemental reading material for your classroom.
