The Enrichment Database
Renzulli Learning provides a safe and personalized way to deliver web content to all students so they can pursue their interests and complete challenging and interesting work. Our system conects students to personalizing enrichment activities, based on each student’s unique Renzulli Profile, focusing on interests, learning styles, and expression styles increases student engagement and achievement. These playlists of activities are organized into a searchable and sortable library that gives students agency over their own learning in a safe and age-appropriate environment.
The initial selection of Enrichment Activities for Renzulli Learning was completed with a group of enrichment and classroom teachers who followed a set of guidelines. This selection was directly overseen by Drs. Sally Reis and Joseph Renzulli, the founders of the platform. As we continue to grow our database, we follow their guidelines focused on engaging, safe, action-oriented activities. All activities are vetted by a team of specialists in the field of education - teachers, administrators, and curriculum specialists with advanced degrees and years of experience.
Based on 30 years of educational research for teaching children, linked activities and websites in our platform have to pass an extensive criteria assessment before being added to the Renzulli database. All websites and activities are screened for safety and appropriate educational content, aiming for activities that allow students to:
- Move from being passive recipients to active investigators of knowledge
- Experience richer and more meaningful educational experiences through a personalized mix of activities
- Develop self-regulation through motivating work and self-directed learning
Common Core and State Standards
Renzulli Learning has more than 13,000 Enrichment Activities aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and a variety of other state-specific standards. Renzulli Learning strives to consistently update our alignments to keep pace with the ever-evolving landscape of states that have adopted and implemented the CCSS and states that have never adopted, have opted out of, or have customized their implementation of the CCSS. New Enrichment Activities are regularly being added to Renzulli Learning and are evaluated by Curriculum Specialists for applicable interest areas, learning styles, expression styles, grade level appropriateness, and correlation to standards.
