Too many students are defined by what they struggle with, not what they can do. Renzulli Learning takes the opposite approach for every learner: gifted and advanced students, emergent bilingual and English learners, students with disabilities, twice-exceptional learners, and economically disadvantaged and diverse students. Gifted & Advanced Learners
The Schoolwide Enrichment Model began in gifted education. Renzulli Learning provides research-backed identification and enrichment for advanced learners: the Renzulli Profiler, the Cebeci Test of Creativity (US Patent 12,087,176), and differentiated enrichment aligned to gifted standards in all 50 states.
Research: Four decades of peer-reviewed SEM research (Reis & Peters, 2021). Baum, Renzulli & Hebert (1995) found 82% of underachieving students reversed underachievement through interest-based creative productivity.

For students served under IDEA or a 504 plan, including students with autism, learning disabilities, and speech and language needs, a strength-based approach complements the supports already in place. Renzulli Learning identifies what each student can do and builds from there, developing academic skills, self-regulation, and executive function through strengths and interests.
Research: The Schoolwide Enrichment Model has been implemented successfully with students who have learning disabilities (Renzulli & Reis). The SEM-R cluster-randomized reading study included a school with a large group of students with special needs and found significant gains in comprehension, fluency, and attitude.

Research: Reis & Peters (2021) report that SEM schools in urban areas increased the engagement, creative productivity, and academic achievement of diverse and low-income students. A 25-year follow-up (Booij, Haan & Plug, 2016) found SEM students earned higher grades and pursued more science-intensive study.
