The 2026-27 shift New screen-time laws and district policies are reshaping the school day. When a district cuts screen-based practice minutes, it loses two things: something for students to do in that time, and a data stream it relied on. Renzulli Learning replaces both without adding screen time. A brief, interest-based profile drives hands-on, off-screen enrichment, and the same profile documents each student's Portrait of a Graduate competencies.

Students conduct original investigations and learn how experts in the field work, then apply those methods to real problems, the kind of hands-on, real-world learning that cannot be done sitting at a screen. Renzulli Learning is the spark, not the screen: it identifies each student's interests, provides the springboard, and documents the growth, while the meaningful work happens out in the world. All of it is grounded in more than five decades of Schoolwide Enrichment Model research at the University of Connecticut.

The Total Talent Portfolio: One Living Record of the Whole Student

The most significant addition to the platform this year is the Total Talent Portfolio, now available on both the student site and the teacher tab, and viewable directly from the teacher dashboard. It brings together each student's interests and learning styles, their durable-skill growth over time, and their best work, from school projects and from real-world experiences outside school, into one living record.

The portfolio captures and showcases the advanced, creative, and investigative work that gifted and talented students produce, their Type III projects, original research, and best products, giving their talent a place to be seen and documented rather than lost between bells.

This year's platform enhancements remove friction on both sides of the classroom, so teachers spend less time managing the tool and students spend more time doing meaningful, hands-on work.

Teacher Site: One-Screen Assignment Module

Teachers can now assign the assessments and assign projects to students from a single screen. What used to take several steps now happens in one place, making it simple to launch a profile, an Executive Function or Critical Thinking assessment, or a hands-on project for a class or an individual student.

The Critical Thinking Assessment

New this year. A student self-report of how often students use analysis, evaluation, inference, and reasoning, with growth tracked over time. Like all Renzulli Learning assessments, it reports how students use and apply the skill, not a direct ability measure.

Executive Function: Validity & Reliability

New this year. A validity and reliability study for the Renzulli Executive Function Assessment, prepared by Dr. Sally Reis and Dr. Selcuk Acar, documenting the psychometrics behind the instrument.

The Full Durable-Skills Suite

The Renzulli Profiler, Executive Function, Leadership, and Critical Thinking assessments, plus the patented Cebeci Test of Creativity, all self-report of how skills are used, with growth over time, feeding the Total Talent Portfolio.
